I enrolled in this course as an SLP from India, and it was a fantastic experience. The Global Certificate Course in Speech Sound Disorders gave me a deeper understanding of the linguistic challenges faced by children in multilingual settings, which is very relevant in a country like India with over 22 officially recognized languages. The section on assessment tools for speech sound disorders was particularly useful—I now use the principles from this course to tailor my evaluations for children speaking Hindi, Tamil, and English. The course materials were thorough, especially the PDF guides on intervention strategies for different speech sound disorders. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because some of the video lectures were a bit slow-paced. Overall, though, I gained practical skills that have significantly improved my therapy outcomes.
Absolutely brilliant course! As an Irish speech and language therapist, I was eager to broaden my knowledge of speech sound disorders beyond the standard UK/US frameworks, and Stanmore’s Global Certificate Course delivered exactly that. The section on developmental speech sound disorders was a fantastic refresher, but it was the advanced modules on cleft lip and palate and the use of ultrasound technology in speech therapy that really stood out. I loved how the course incorporated real-world examples from Europe and beyond, making the content feel immediately applicable. The discussion forums were also a great way to connect with peers globally—shoutout to the tutor who provided detailed feedback on my case study assignment! The module on phonetic transcription was especially helpful—I now use the IPA more confidently in my reports. The course materials were well-organized, though I wish there were more case studies specific to the Middle Eastern context. Still, the knowledge I gained has directly improved my therapy sessions.
